Samual Seidman, Ph.D.
CHAIR
Sam Seidman is the current chair of the Child & Adolescent Depression SIG. Dr. Seidman received his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University and is a postdoctoral research fellow at Columbia University Medical Center. He is a union steward with Columbia Postdoctoral Workers local 4100. His research focuses on the interaction between familial and biological mechanisms by which youth depression and suicide develop and in turn using these insights to inform the development of novel, low-cost prevention/intervention efforts.

Sarah Danzo, Ph.D.
PAST CHAIR
Sarah Danzo, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor at University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her research broadly aims to better understand the etiology of depression and risk behaviors across development to inform prevention and intervention strategies for youth and families. My current projects focus on adapting and evaluating suicide prevention programs for use with adolescents and their families in primary care and outpatient medical settings, including developing and adapting brief, just-in-time, and digital interventions to expand access to services.


Rebecca Wildman, Ph.D.
CHAIR ELECT
Rebecca Wildman is a post-doctoral fellow at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She completed her doctoral training at UT Southwestern’s Clinical Psychology program. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Medicine, Health, & Society from Vanderbilt University. She completed her practicum at John Peter Smith Hospital She is currently interning at the Southern Methodist University Bob Smith Health Center's Counseling Services. She is completing her dissertation research in adolescent suicidality and lethal means restriction with Children's in Dallas.
Jamie Nguyen, Ph.D.
TREASURER
Jamie Nguyen is a postdoctoral psychology fellow at the Suicide Prevention and Resilience at Children’s, or SPARC, in Dallas. She provides individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents with suicidal ideation. She earned her PhD in psychology from Southern Methodist University and completed her internship training at Children’s Health Los Angeles. Her research interests include trauma, suicidality, and intervention development and evaluation.


Phuonguyen (Hailey) Chu, M.A.

Hailey Chu is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She received her B.A. in psychology and cognitive science from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her clinical interest is in the treatment of child and adolescent internalizing disorders. Her current research focuses on the associations between peer problems, inhibitory control, and anxiety and depression. Specifically, she has an interest in identifying and leveraging social mechanisms that underlie the development of internalizing disorders to inform more individualized, accessible, and effective interventions for youth and their families.
Savannah Dieste, B.A.
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
Savannah Dieste is a fourth-year doctoral student in the UT Southwestern Clinical Psychology program. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is completing her pre-doctoral internship at Children’s Health in Dallas, specifically in the Center for Eating Disorders and the Suicide Prevention and Resilience Children’s Health (SPARC). Her dissertation research is focused on the impact of trauma on suicidal adolescents and their families in intensive treatment for suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
